Stroke of Genius

Do you know what this is?

Landscape sketch.

Guess.

A stroke of pure landscaping genius, I tell you. Come on in Home Depot in a fit of desperation, crystallized on the patio of Taqueria El Torero in East Oakland, over Dos Equis and the best veggie refried beans under the sun.

The research is done now, the plotting complete. The plan goes into action this Saturday.

Stay tuned…

That’s a landscaping plan! Did Trent design it? Are you doing your landscaping this Saturday? I remember the day the landscapers showed up to our house. Your dad was so excited he could hardly stand it. Something about laying sod that revives the “primal instinct” in men. Sort of like tilling the soil or chopping down trees to build the first log cabin on the prairie. I will never forget the landscaper either. I think he drew the plan on a coffee stained piece of graph paper. I might even still have it. He didn’t know much about readin’ and writin’, but he knew how to get a crew to lay down sod!

I am very happy for you! Your yard will be a garden of delights! A place to spend peaceful, happy moments with your friends and family and your little dog too. There is something powerful in nature to soothe the soul and uplift the spirits. You can sit out there under a tree and read a good book and nibble on your grapes when all the work is done.

And I never thought you would get it done so fast! No “grass ever grows under your feet”, Lisa and Trent. You are the best project managers I have ever known in my entire life.

    Love,

    Mom

Okay… so you’re redoing the back yard; or improving it again! It’s amazing what happens when you take a step back and just let your mind work!

Can’t wait to see it “finished” —
