Treehuggin’

This is what a perfect afternoon looks like:

Katy, Me, Marlene, Jon, and Trent on newly-colonized Tree Island in the Stanislaus River near Knights Ferry.

Katy, Me, Marlene, Dexter the Dog, Jon, and Trent on newly-colonized Tree Island in the Stanislaus River. Somewhere near Knights Ferry.

Just wanted to share it. I’m actually sad my birthday week is over, not because I’m now getting closer to 36, but because the grand finale – camping under the Giant Sequoia in a quiet stretch of the Sierra Nevada – went by too quick.

Must get back to Tree Island quickly…

In the meantime, see all our pics of my birthday camping weekend at Calaveras Big Trees State Park (and other places) here.

Never guessed you would be such a lover of the outdoors until I took you on that first Brownie Girl Scout campout. You definitely have a passion for the “big trees”. Don’t lose that love for nature. It is proof of life! Trent looks as content as can be!
