Birthday Boy(s)

It’s birthday week here at the Temple household. Sammy and Trent both turned a year older, just one day apart: my Scorpio men.

Sam’s big day was spent at daycare with his puppy buds, followed by an evening meal of chilli and mozzarella cheese with a giant bully stick for dessert. Oh – and a squeaky stuffed avocado on the side. What – you didn’t think I’d forget the veggies, did you?

With the pit still in, to keep it fresh!

Sam really not knowing where to begin with his giant birthday bully.

Sam really not knowing where to begin with his giant birthday bully (thanks, Grandma!).

Trent’s birthday, on the other hand, was a tad rowdier. Just a smidge.

It started off like this:

Trent and his best bros.

And then turned into this:

I'm not really sure what this is, actually.

Before we knew it there was this:

Moves. No shame.

Moves. No shame.

And thankfully then it was last call:

Clearly, it's time to go home.

Clearly, it’s time to go home.

Oh – but then came morning:

Funny how predictable this part is, right?

Funny how predictable this part is, right?

And so the first day of 35 for Big Birthday Boy has been a little less than magical, but I don’t think he regrets it. He’s got Little Birthday Boy to suffer through it with. And a huge thank you to everyone who came out last night to Bar 355 to celebrate with him. More than anything, he’s feeling very loved right now.

Especially by me:

(thanks, Marlene!)

That is a big, darn stick! And Trent’s “posse” looks just like old times (awesome group of friends). Sure wish I was there to celebrate and see whatever that was that Trent was doing (dancing?). Maybe I can’t “party like a rock star” but I can sure join in the fun and wish you the best (shortly before falling asleep at the table after my one beer.) I hate missing moments like these. Thank you for giving me a peek into a life well lived (even if the next morning was a little painful). Even the dog had a “food hangover”. Better to live large and not regret it. Love you all!
