Christmas 2015

One year ago today, Trent and I were lying poolside at our luxury all-inclusive resort in Cabo San Lucas.

At some point, we managed to rally, put actual clothes on, gorge ourselves on sushi, and stroll out to the beach, where we watched the sun set beside El Arco and toasted the whole “Christmas” thing with some cold Modelos. I think we might have even taken a walk into town afterward for some tequila and late night tacos?

This year, things couldn’t be more different. We’re once again off work for two weeks straight, but we’re using the time to bounce back and forth between Arnold and Oakland, packing in friends and family, doing all the holiday things, while staying as cozy as possible.

We’ve pulled a Christmas 180, and I can’t say we won’t pull another one next year. But this year, it’s working well. I’ve got my boys with me, and that’s my real recipe for happiness right there. Sushi and beer not necessary.

(Though, sushi and beer are always welcome additions. Always. Tacos, too.)

Here’s to hoping you all have your recipe just right this holiday season, as well.

Merry, Merry Christmas from Team Temple!

We cooked up a similar recipe for Christmas this year and it was delightful! We went to church together and then laid around the house all day eating and sleeping. Perfect! And in between we had our Christmas “chat” with you on the phone. (Well, it would have been perfect if only you were here!!). I can’t imagine what next year will bring, but I am sure it will be good. Because no matter what, we will appreciate our blessings and thank God for each and every day we have together. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Love to all at your house! (Is that dog ever gonna wake up??)
