Solved

FINALLY. Instead of three weeks, it took six.

Wisdom Panel lost Sam’s original DNA swab but, eventually, they came through.

We have the results of his genetic test.

Life’s Great Mysteries

It’s right up there with “is there life after death?” and “are we alone in the universe?”…

“WHAT KIND OF DOG IS SAM?!”

What do you mean? I'm a pup! A SuperPup!

What do you mean? I’m a pup! A SuperPup!

Seriously, we couldn’t take it anymore. Constantly arguing over whether he was a Jack Russell or a Fox Terrier, or whether he has a little Bull Terrier thrown in for muscle and some Pitt Bull for the hard head (it really is an asset at the dog park!). A little Whippett for speed…

The constant conversation with strangers in bars or pet stores or parks that went on too long…

“He’s a Rat Terrier!”

Is that a compliment?

“He’s a Beagle! LOOK AT 27 PICTURES OF BEAGLES ON MY PHONE NOW!”

BECAUSE IT’S NOT LIKE I DON’T KNOW WHAT A FREAKIN’ BEAGLE LOOKS LIKE OR ANYTHING!

“He’s a Cattle Jack!”

…uh, you got me there.

Well, we finally decided it was time to find out what Sammy the SuperPup really is, besides just the fastest, muscly-ist dog in the west.

So on January 9th, four years to the day from when we brought him home from the SPCA, we swabbed his little puppy cheek and set up his doggy DNA test.

Two more weeks until we end the debate for good (and leave a blueprint for the rest of the world to make their own little SuperPups)…

Another One For the Fam

Our special little 21st century family has grown by one – and this one actually has some of Trent’s DNA!

Meet William Bradley Babiak, our newest little cousin and geographically closest relation (along with his parents, of course; we haven’t forgotten they exist, but Will does tend to take over the room)…

"Ay yi yi! Are you sure she knows what she's doing?"

“Ay yi yi! Are you sure she knows what she’s doing?”

We can’t get enough of his cute little face and his teensy, tiny, little newborn parts. We’re so excited to have him in our lives here in the Bay Area! And if that weren’t enough, soon he’ll be joined by another relation: we’re headed to Fresno this weekend to celebrate the impending arrival of our niece and goddaughter (yes! a real niece!), but more on that soon enough…

Suffice it to say, while we’ve still chosen to remain childless ourselves, we’re more excited than ever for the proliferation of other people’s babies flooding into our lives. The Team Temple JV Squad…

Hmm…

I just realized someone might beg to differ with me on the “childless” part…

We have problems.

We have problems.
