Two Headed Reunion

It’s been about three years now since Trent’s band, Two Headed Spy, officially broke up.

It happened not long after we bought 3675 and moved to Oakland, but it was in the works for a while. The guys had been together for years, writing and performing and recording and dedicating themselves to their music way more than your average weekend warrior, but those “grown up life things” had just started to happen. Stress Visualization

So, I’m wading into uncharted waters here, as far as my stress levels are concerned. Thank god I’ve got that second honeymoon coming up.

People keep asking me how I’m doing. How I’m adjusting, handling it all, yada yada. So far my response is just, “Ohhh… I’m doing!”

In truth, closing in on two weeks in, I now see that I’ve started relying on some old coping mechanisms developed in more stressful times, way back when. Continue reading

One of the best things about home ownership is shedding the nagging feeling that a move might be just around the corner.

Especially since relocating to the Bay Area in 2006, I now realize I had this constant concern in the back of my mind… I’d better be ready at any moment! My cushy rental situation might turn out to be too good to be true, and I might have to find some crappy apartment really fast (for 2k a month) and make do with half the space.

Maybe not everyone lives like that, but me – I’m a worrywort. I did.

But I don’t anymore, and it feels nice. The more I realize this, the more I give myself the okay to go after those “big things” I’ve wanted for a long time now.
